For a fortnight in early October scenes from the Hindu epic, the Ramayana, were played out across India. Lord Ram and Ravana engaged in their final battle on the 11th. Who was victorious? You don’t know? Jai Sri Ram! Jai Sri Ram!
On Dussehra Lord Rama killed the demon-king, Ravana, rescuing his abducted wife Sita in the process.
Lord Rama could not have achieved this feet on his own. He called on the services of his loyal devotee, Hanuman Ji, the monkey deity known for his courage and selfless service, and his twin brother Lakshmana.
For a fortnight scenes depicting events from the Hindu epic, the Ramayana, were played out across India. Everything came to a head on the 11th October when Rama arrived in Lanka, met with Ravana and battle ensued. You know who was victorious, don’t you? Jai Sri Ram! Jai Sri Ram!
